Match Report
What a difference a week makes! In their previous outing, the Hibs had defeated Jeanfield 5-1 but on Saturday they got their backsides felt as the Bluebell capitalised on sloppy defending to take the points.

And yet it looked all so different when the ref blew for half-time. Sure, the sides were locked at 1-1 but in terms of possession and goal-scoring opportunities, Thornton had clearly edged it, so their supporters looked forward to them pushing on to get the winner that would allow them to go top of the league.

Colin Downie’s men had other ideas though and in the end they were deserved winners.

There were only two minutes on the clock when Martyn Thomson put Dundonald ahead with a typical clinical finish but the former Dundonald player, Ross Morgan, levelled affairs in the 21st minute with a great low strike.

Just like they did at the start of the first-half, Dundonald began well and after Stewart Luke’s 47th minute strike came back off the bar, Graeme Mills followed up to blast the ball home via the inside of the post.

Two minutes later, the ex Glenrothes duo, Graeme Mills and Sam Linton, combined with the former’s free-kick being headed home by the latter to give the visitors a two goal cushion. When Robert Hodge headed Mills’ corner-kick into the net in the 61st minute it looked like Dundonald were going to run up a cricket score but the Hibs went on to enjoy their best spell in the second-half and they reduced the leeway ten minutes later when Adam Drummond headed Keiran McGuire’s free-kick over Ian Rann.

Derek Wallace sealed the victory in the 79th minute with the goal of the game. John Dickson made a hash of a clearance and Wallace lashed it first time from 25 yards into the net
