Match Report
Ross Morgan and John Halley got the goals that secured the Hibs all three points in their last home game of 2009/10.

Morgan got the opening goal – his 20th of the season – on the half hour mark. Adam Drummond had a shot from the edge of the area that Bankies' goalie, Kenny Band, pushed wide. Coco Mullen reacted quickly to get to the loose ball first and his perfect cut back was struck low into the net by Morgan.

Adam Doig forced a good save from Band in the 62nd minute and then at the other end David Fyffe was presented with a great chance to equalise however a superb last ditch challenge from Drummond forced the visiting midfielder to shoot weakly into the hands of Scott Russell.

A hefty Russell clearance gave Morgan an opportunity to double the Hibs' tally but he just couldn't get enough elevation in his attempted lob to allow Band to gather easily.

Doig came close twice in quick succession without success but another goal was on the cards and it eventually came in the 80th minute. Mike McAinsh played a long ball up the left that was well won by Mullen. He cut in and crossed for his strike partner, Morgan to have a ping. Band saved well but when the ball fell handily for Halley, the ex-Raith man, made no mistake from 12 yards.

This result now means that Thornton travel to Scone next Saturday seeking the single point that would secure championship success but Craig Gilbert’s side know full well that Thistle will be eager to play the role of party poopers and will provide stern opposition.
