Thornton Hibs completed their pre-season friendlies as they drew 3-3 in an entertaining game at Ore Park against Ballingry Rovers. Craig Smart put the home side ahead after 15 minutes. This was the only goal of the first-half although Stuart McDonald must’ve thought the Soccer AM camera crew were there to film Crossbar Challenge as he hit the bar no fewer than three times and just for good measure hit the post once too!
John Halley headed the Hibs equaliser in the 50th minute and then Gary Thomson’s powerful low drive in the 58th minute gave the visitors the lead. Kieran McGuire extended this lead three minutes later but Archie Wyse’s team rallied and in the 64th minute Adam Moffat reduced the leeway. With two minutes remaining Frank Hepburn struck the equaliser.
The ‘Real McCoy’ begins next Saturday when the Hibs visit Warout to take on Glenrothes in the ACA Sports League Cup.
